Master Peace Bedroom-One Room Challenge Fall 2018-Week4

Week 4 is here and I am feeling some pressure! If you missed my last post, I was struggling with the grid for the 3D panels on the accent wall and this week was no different, I’m understanding the whole “challenge” part of this room.

Not so peaceful panels, but I love them anyway.

I was happy to find a solution to my grid after spending a few hours in front of my computer and as I was on my way to make it happen… Then I couldn’t cut the panels. I tried everything, from a utility knife to an electric circular saw. I found the utility knife did a better job, but I couldn’t cut it perfectly straight and it took me about 20 minutes to cut a not-so-straight line.

I went back into my research and realized none of the videos I had seen had the complex geometry of my panels. After several failed attempts, I considered changing the whole thing and returning the not so peaceful panels. But the truth is, this is the challenge not only of this room, but also for a designer. If we want to be creative, we have to also be persistent in realizing our ideas.

I started looking for guidance on how to make it happen and found a local business which installs 3D panels. They will be coming on Saturday and I will definitely share their tips and tricks on how to take on this installation. The internet needs more information and tutorials on how to do this by yourself.

As you can see, I also tried out the green detailing on the panel and loved it. I won’t be able to do anything until the installation is complete (another fun fact I learned along the way).

I am getting anxious and stressed to be running behind schedule, but I know I’ll pull through. Come back next week to finally see the accent wall fully transformed.
