Stellar Nursery in a Walk-In Closet. One Room Challenge Spring 2019-Week 4

Week 4 is here and I didn’t make as much progress as I wanted. I forget I’m pregnant and take 3 times longer to finish things. However progress is still progress and here is the update!

The dresser before becoming a changing table.

The dresser before becoming a changing table.

The dresser is now a changing table as well. I decided to reuse the only dresser I had in our closet before the remodel because the size was great for the baby’s clothes and it wouldn’t take up as much space as a regular changing table (with no drawers). This option was also budget-friendly so it was really a no brainer. I found this dresser about a year ago in my neighborhood yard sale for $20, and after buying all the materials to give it a stellar look, it will be less than $100 piece of furniture!

I decided to assemble a box on top of the dresser to fit the changing cushion. I found this one in IKEA for $5 (by now you probably know I am fan of this store). And I gave the drawers an ombre look and painted each one a different orange tone. I still have to paint the sides of the dresser and the changing tray with the dark orange. I am also still deciding on which type of knobs I will use.

I decided on this color because it is an abstraction of the sun and because I’m a fan of bright colors. I had seen the ombre idea on a friends dresser and have been wanting to try it out for some time. I am really proud of my changing station, and amazed at how good it turned out to be honest. Would you like to read a DIY post on how I did it? Leave your comment on the section bellow.

I hope to show you more next week and be close to finishing this room so I don’t stress out at the end of this challenge. You can follow me on instagram to keep up with my crazy ideas @stellar.design.interiors.
