Bathroom Makeover. One Room Challenge Spring 2021 Week 2
Week 2 is here and I am happy with the progress!
My main focus was making this work with my budget. Some hard choices were made but I am ok with them. For example, I wanted to remove the bathtub and install a shower but after considering everything I decided to keep the tub and just use a bathtub glass panel to open up the room. The room is very dark, as I mentioned in last week’s post but once I eliminate the shower curtain and change the wall color I think it will give the bathroom a bright and clean look.
I am super excited to work on the walls in this bathroom. I am all for original designs and I enjoy doing accent walls where you can get a sense of my style and my crazy ideas. For this project, I was inspired by the geometry in one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s stained glass and want to work with half-round molding to make the walls really stand out.
I am thinking of just staining the unfinished molding to keep the natural wood tone because it is so beautiful, and works with the tones I already have all over my home. Also, I am considering using some color to play with the shapes and give them dimension.
I came up with a render to give you an idea of what I am thinking of doing.
The orders for everything have been placed and I will start working on the walls, measuring and priming them to get some work done.
I am still unsure if I will cover half the wall with the same tile as the floor or do something different with it. Also, not sure if I will go with the blue details or change the color to green or another soft white tone. What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments below.
